03/31/2021 - Episode 9 - "...Wait, Let's go Back." Part 1

Friends, without further ado - Episode 9.: "...Wait, Let's Go Back." is up on our YouTube Channel!

Our great friend Jeremy West is an actor, director, fencer, educator, and stage-combat instructor who decided, in the middle of the pandemic, to open a theater company called Silver Line Theatre Exchange. What could be more #FKITYES than that?

Also, Jackson decided to step up and assert himself. I think he may be taking over.

We love you!

Maya, Christopher, and Jackson.

Go forth and enjoy! https://youtu.be/CXXbJ9jVlbk

Friends, we’re so excited to share this episode with you but we’re going to be fashionably late.

As you can see from this picture, taken just seconds ago, Christopher is hard at work (as he’s been for the past several days) putting the finishing touches and making it the best it can possibly be.

Watch this space for updates and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s up!

03/29/2021 - Our friend Jeremy West and Silver Line Theatre Exchange

#MotivationMonday at #fkityes

Friends, our next episode is right around the corner and will be up on Wednesday, and it's a #fkityes story that you don't want to miss.

Back in December we went down to Staunton, VA, to meet up with one of Christopher's best friends, Jeremy West, and interview him about his decision to open a theater company called Silver Line Theatre Exchange in the middle of the Pandemic.

Jeremy is an accomplished actor, director, educator, fencer, and stage-combat instructor who has worked at Shakespeare Theatre, D.C.; American Shakespeare Center ; Virginia Shakespeare Festival; Virginia Stage Company; Shakespeare Forum; Vanguard Theatre Company, U.K.; Next Stage Theatre; and Heritage Theatre Festival, among others.

He's also our fencing teacher, for those of you following along!

We originally planned to stay for about three days of filming, but (as apparently happens with us) ended up staying for about three *weeks*

The good thing that ended up happening is we got to spend a lot of time together and talk all things theater and performance, not to mention what it means to say #fkityes and just go for it and decide to invest in yourself and do what you love, no matter the odds.

You'll hear all about Silver Line Theatre Exchange and how they were able to operate with all of the restrictions on Wednesday, but for now meet Jeremy in a few of his guises, and if you scroll some, you'll see the theater company and his lovely family with Phoebe, and their children Heidi, and Alice.

We can't wait for you to see it!

Tune in on Wednesday at 8PM EST/5PM PST

We love you,

Maya, Christopher, and Jackson.

03/27/2021 - Passover

Happy Passover!

Sometimes (ok, always) I like to be irreverent, so I made you a video!

We're both sad to have missed the seder with family in Israel, and here in Savannah it was just a random Saturday, but working on this video made me feel a bit like I was marking the occasion.

So Chag Sameach to all who celebrate! #FKITYES!

We love you,

Maya, Christopher, and Jackson (who's not in this one cause we hadn't got him yet)

03/21/2021 - Outtakes #5 - Maya Eats Things

Friends, there are protocols to consider when you’re filming people eating. Christopher doesn’t know them.

What do you think? Amiright?

Feel free to like, comment and share this with anyone who needs a laugh.

#fkityes!

We love you,

Maya, Christopher, and Jackson (who isn’t in this one at all and will be mad at me)

It’s been a few days of renovating the camper (new kitchen drawer and outside light, plus the swords now have places to hang!) and organizing files, here at chez #fkityes, with a big Thank You to the Voorhees family for hosting us again and letting us use their garage for all of this madness.

And how is your Saturday going? What are you going to say “Fuck it, Yes!” to today?

03/17/2021 - A Year and a Day

A year and a day ago official quarantine started for us. We were both home, Christopher had just been laid off from his job, and information was just starting to get out about Covid.

So Christopher made a silly quarantine video and called it "Day 1". He hadn't planned on doing too many of these, but I told him that he created an expectation for more, so we had to make a "Day 2" and so on...

Little did we know then what was going to happen, that we would both be sick with Covid, and that this whole thing would last more than a year and set us on the road to saying "Fuck it, Yes!" and creating this project.

So here's that first video. You can watch that entire series, including the world-famous Covid party game "Can You Smell It?" (both the Christopher and Maya versions.)

Which one is your favorite?

We love you,

Maya, Christopher, and Jackson.

03/16/2021 - Episode 8 - The Thanksgiving Episode

It's Episode 8, friends!

We made it to Thanksgiving!

Remember when we were woken up at 4am at a Walmart parking lot? Yeah... this was that drive, right when we left New York and drove down to Arlington, VA.

We ended up having a lovely Thanksgiving at our friends Cynthia and Justin's, met their awesome friend Jess, and discovered some more things wrong with Madame P. You know, par for the course

And all right before Christmas!

So watch and let us know what you think, and if you like what you see - a like/comment/share would be awesome!

03/04/2021 - On Our Way Out of the Keys

CAADB9E4-B914-440A-85C8-95F180C213BC.JPG

Friends, so much happened today!

IMG_1511.jpg

We meandered our way (reluctantly) out of the keys and decided that our first stop would be the @MarathonTurtleHospital.

Gotta tell ya, it was pretty amazing to learn about the different kinds of turtles and see them being taken care of. Mostly they get to the hospital after being found when they’ve been hit by a boat or jet-ski, have growths that hinder them, or they may have eaten plastic or debris of some kind or been bitten by a shark.

The hospital takes care of them until they can be released back into their ocean home, but they do have some permanent residents who just wouldn’t survive but for being there.

IMG_1512.jpg

Our next stop was Keys Fisheries where we had an amazing lobster reuben sandwich and sampled some conch for the first time! Yes, you read that right. A reuben sandwich that has lobster instead of corned beef. It was yummy.

Stuffed but happy (there are no calories when you’re driving away from paradise, did you know?) we stopped for the last time and got a slice of Key Lime Pie at The Fish House on Key Largo, which was recommended by our friend Ken Brown. Good stuff!

We then finally arrived at our destination for the night, the same vegetable farm where we stayed before the keys, parked between two zucchini fields.

It’s been a good day. #FKITYES

We love you!

03/02/2021 - The Florida Keys

IMG_1407.JPG

Soooo.... we’re in Key Lime! Uh... West, I mean Key West, hehe

We weren’t supposed to even be here, but one thing led to another when we first got to Florida and everyone told us we have to go to the keys if we’re this far south, so we said #FKITYES and drove out!

I know I’ve been saying it a lot, but it’s damn pretty here.

Here is our zen moment from today’s sunset.

We love you,

Maya, Christopher, and Jackson.

02/26/2021 - Attack of the Killer Cranes!

IMG_6339.JPG

Nature gets really up close and personal in Florida!

Also, have you seen that our new episode is up? www.YouTube.com/fkityes

Go see!

We’ve seen these sandhill cranes around for the past week or so, and every place we stop they seem less afraid of people and more curious.

Or they want to kill us. Who knows?

#fkityes

We love you, even if the cranes don’t,

Maya, Christopher, and Jackson.

02/25/2021 - Episode 6 - Dark Obscurities

Episode 6 - Dark Obscurities - is up!

Have you ever had an experience that changes the way you look at things?

We came across one such on Halloween, when our dear friends, Gilad Paz and Lisa Katz-Paz, invited us out to something called DARK OBSCURITIES, which was a unique audio experience on the bank of the Hudson River.

We loved it, and then went on to meet and interview Liz Muller and John Skufca about their awesome creation!

Btw, Christopher Whipple worked his ass off on this one. I'm excited for you to watch!

And since I finally decided to try and figure out the FB algorithm, the link is in the first comment. Go watch! Bring popcorn.

02/23/2021 - Carburetor Troubles in Florida

Friends, if you’ve seen any of our stories the past couple of days, you know we had some carburetor issues.

Good news!

The carburetor has been fixed and it wasn’t terribly expensive!

Christopher wishes he could’ve cleaned it and changed the air filter and hoses himself, but the truth is that we just didn’t have a place to park where he could’ve had the time to figure it out, so we decided to have the mechanic do it instead.

Personally, I’m happy the issue has been resolved and we can continue on our merry way without having this worry on our shoulders as we head further south.

We love you,

Maya, Christopher, and Jackson.

02/20/2021 - We love Florida

Well, friends, we love Florida.

BC9200D4-DB68-43CB-AF8B-8DA1DEA500F4.JPG

Personally I haven’t been here since I was 8 years old (Christopher had been here much more recently), and it’s changed! A lot!

I think it’s me. I’ve changed

We spent a wonderful 10 days in St. John’s and spent a couple of those days in St. Augustine, founded in 1565 and arguably the first town built in the US (according to them ).

The new floor in the camper is holding up beautifully and looks gorgeous! It’s like we have a new home!

IMG_1033.JPG

Currently we’re parked at a winery on the highest hill in Florida (who knew it had those ), and it’s gorgeous.

Being on the road is a blessing and a curse at the same time (at least for me), but it doesn’t fail at being pretty and making us feel fortunate that we get to experience all of this. #fkityes

02/14/2021 - Valentine's Day

IMG_0976.jpg
IMG_0389.jpg

Alright, alright. I’ll do a #ValentinesDay post, too!

Christopher doesn’t even know I’m doing this, but I felt like this day deserved a mention.

He’s been working for two days together with our friend (also named) Christopher on putting in a new floor in the camper after we were relieved to find out that the floor isn’t rotted through, yay! (Keep scrolling for a couple of photos.)

Meanwhile, here are all three of my #valentines at the same time: @Christopher_Whipple, @JacksonTheodoreMcCloud, and Madame P herself.

I hope you all had a good day, whether you celebrate this day or not.

We love you guys so much. #fkityes!
